Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and yellow warning for 10 districts of Odisha till 8pm on Monday.Moderate thunderstorm/lightning with surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph and light to moderate rain may affect some parts of Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam districts in 3 hours.The weather agency has warned of minor damage to loose/unsecured structures, banana trees and standing crops.

People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and move to safer places.Light to moderate thunderstorm accompanied by gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and lightning and light to moderate rain may also occur in some parts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, and Mayurbhanj during this period.People have been advised to keep a watch on the weatherand move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strike.



Heatwave warning has been issued for Odisha from Tuesday. Heatwave along with hot and humid weather conditions may prevail in the state till April 25 during which the day temperature is expected to rise by 3-5 degree Celsius.Also Read: Jharsuguda Records 44.
