rapplerAds.displayAd( "mobile-middle-1" );MANILA, Philippines – Ahead of the coronation night, each of the 66 Miss Universe Philippines 2025 candidates showed why each of them are deserving of the crown at the preliminary competition on Monday, April 28, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. The preliminary competition started with closed-door interviews meant to test the beauty queens’ speaking skills and ability to answer questions clearly on the spot.

It was originally scheduled to start at 8 pm, leading to a nearly three-hour wait for Filipino pageant enthusiasts. Hosted by Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo and Erika Kristensen Lee, the long-awaited preliminaries started off with a swimsuit round, where candidates strutted across the stage in lavender swimsuits and purple cover-ups.
