We should be proud of him in every way," she said. The couple got married on April 16. Vinay, who was posted in Kochi, was touring Pahalgam with his wife, a school teacher, on a honeymoon.

"We request that the government give such people strict punishment and terrorism by any means necessary." Apart from Narwal, Indian Air Force's Corporal Tage Hailyang also lost his life in the attack.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has assured of a "loud and clear response," and directed the armed forces to be on "high combat alert." Anti-terror operations have also intensified in the Kashmir valley after the terror incident. Earlier today, two terrorists were gunned down in Baramulla district while trying to infiltrate through the Uri sector.
