Indiana Jones and the Great Circle , which debuted on PS5 earlier this month, is off to an impressive start on Sony’s system. According to an in-depth report by data analyst firm Alinea Analytics , the title has already sold over 100k copies on PlayStation, and is outperforming its Steam counterpart launch aligned. While the firm doesn’t reveal its exact methodology, it does tout it as the “most accurate on the market”.

We’ll contact the company to try and get a little more insight into how it’s compiling its numbers. For now, though, the source says that MachineGames’ latest is selling faster on PS5 than it did on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It notes this is particularly impressive when you consider it’s launching late on Sony’s platform, after the initial marketing cycle has ended.

Alinea Analytics’ data shows that less people plumped up for Early Access on the four-month-old game, which makes sense, but since the PS5 version’s full official launch date it’s outperformed its Steam counterpart comfortably launch aligned. The report also claims that the PS5 version is selling faster than its Xbox alternative, but this is where things get a little wishy-washy because the release’s inclusion on Game Pass muddies the waters somewhat. It states that a little under five million Xbox players have tried out the Indy adventure, but the “vast majority” of these were obtained via the subscription.

It then adds that Game Pass ultimately “cannibalises” premium game sales, and editorialises that this bet isn’t paying off for the firm..
