The residents of Orangi Town face daily hardships due to the poor state of infrastructure. Despite being one of Karachi’s largest residential areas, it suffers from crumbling roads and an inefficient drainage system. During the rainy season, the situation worsens.
Clogged drains and broken roads make travel nearly impossible and lead to severe waterlogging. With the monsoon approaching, drains are already choked with sludge, hampering the flow of stormwater. The lack of timely repairs and proper maintenance remains a persistent issue.
It is high time that local authorities, particularly the Town Municipal Corporation (TMC), take decisive action to fix the infrastructure in Orangi Town. Ensuring effective drainage systems and repairing damaged roads will greatly improve the quality of life for residents. ENGR.
