Discloses that President will return to Abuja after Easter holidayBy Sodiq Adelakun The Presidency on Thursday reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains fully in control of Nigeria’s leadership, despite his ongoing stay in Europe. Officials stressed that his dedication to national responsibilities “remains unwavering” and that the machinery of government continues to operate without disruption. In a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the Presidency confirmed that President Tinubu travelled from Paris to London over the weekend and remains in direct communication with senior government figures.

“The President left Paris for London at the weekend and has maintained constant communication with key government officials, overseeing critical national matters, including issuing directives to security chiefs in response to emerging threats across parts of the country,” Onanuga said.He reiterated that President Tinubu’s absence from the country has not led to any lapse in governance, affirming that the President is actively discharging his responsibilities from abroad.“There has been no vacuum in leadership,” Onanuga stated.

“The President’s resolve to fulfil his mandate remains solid, and government activities continue under his guidance.”He also assured Nigerians that President Tinubu is expected to return to Abuja after the Easter break and will resume his official duties at the Presidential Villa.“We acknowledge the concerns expressed by members of the public and wish to reassure all Nigerians that governance is ongoing without any hindrance,” the statement added.

The reassurance follows growing public anxiety over the country’s deteriorating security conditions, with many questioning the appropriateness of the President’s overseas engagements during a period of heightened tension.Nonetheless, the Presidency sought to dispel such concerns, stressing that Tinubu is not on holiday but is actively engaged in national affairs, particularly with respect to security matters that require immediate attention. The post Insecurity: Tinubu’s commitment to his duties remains unwavering — Presidency defends foreign stay appeared first on Nigerian NewsDirect.
