Inverness man fined after shouting and swearing at his partner in city bar

An Inverness man has been fined after shouting and swearing at his partner in an Inverness bar. Michael Serls (34) was at Jimmy Badgers, in Church Street, when he banged his hands on the table and shouted at his partner telling her ‘you’ve ruined the night’. Fiscal depute Sophie Marshall previously told Sheriff David Harvie at Inverness Sheriff Court that the incident took place on March 7.

She said witnesses working at the bar observed Serls banging on the table and swearing at his partner. “He then shouted and swore at other patrons,” she added. “The accused was making others upset and the bar workers approached him and told him he was no longer welcome.



He refused to leave. “Police attended and the accused was then escorted from Jimmy Badgers and taken to Burnett Road Police Station.” Serls, of Murray Terrace, Inverness, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Sheriff Gary Aitken fined Serls a total of £420..
