iPhone owners rave over hidden keyboard trick that lets you type much faster and admit it ‘never crossed my mind’

Although Apple devices have enabled the text replacement feature for years, it is still one of the iPhone's best-kept secrets. In just a few steps , users can add substitutions for commonly used words or even their email addresses to their devices.



The hack was recently discovered by iPhone users in the r/ios Reddit thread. Someone posted a screenshot with the comment, "I just want to autofill my actual email," and the text replacement tips flowed in. "I created a keyboard shortcut to insert my personal email when I type @@, and work email when I type three of them," one person responded.

"You should set up a keyboard text replacement in settings anyway. Mine is @@ and iOS replaces that with my email address," another replied. "Haven’t typed my email for years," they added.

"I just have a keyboard shortcut (@g = Gmail @l = Live @w = work). It’s really nice ," a fourth said. "Why is this one of those things that makes sense in retrospect but I’ve been typing my long a** subdo.
