Over the years, Avesh Khan has mastered the art of bowling at the death. No matter what the target, the fast bowler keeps his cool and focuses on execution rather than worrying about the outcome. Things were no different on Saturday as he successfully defended nine runs in the final over and denied Rajasthan Royals a win in a crucial Indian Premier League fixture.

But when I bowl on the field, I never get tense about whether I will get a six or a four. I always focus on execution. I only back the ball that I am going to bowl.

And I always try to bowl a yorker,” Avesh said. At a time when the Royals looked on course for a comfortable win, Avesh derailed the momentum by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag in a span of five deliveries, which eventually became the turning point of the game.
