AIRBUS’ quest for a hat-trick of trophies remains alive - but only just. Ardal League Corwen looked to be on course for a place in the North East Wales FA Challenge Cup final when they led 3-1 with 10 minutes left, but the Wingmakers turned things around at The Globe as it finished 3-3 and Airbus won the penalty shootout 5-4. Calyn Spencer (2) and Dafydd Evans struck for Corwen, with Kaiden Cooke, Hugh Holland (pictured below) and Oli Lanceley replying.
Ieuan Jones-Wellstead netted the winning penalty for Airbus, who now meet Holywell Town in the final on May 10. Mark Allen’s side are seeking a treble, having already won the Cymru North Cup and Cymru Cup in recent weeks..
