Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi are set to share the screen in the upcoming romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf, their debut film together. The trailer was released some time back and promises a one of a kind story about a love story locked in an unending time loop.

Jay Thakkar, who started his career as a child artist on popular television shows, will star in a significant role in the film as well. Recently, in an interview, Jay opened up about securing the film and his experience of working with Rajkummar Rao. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Jay shared that he has been in the entertainment industry for two decades and credits his years of experience with helping him form strong bonds with casting directors, many of whom had seen him grow up on set.

One such director, who had founded his own casting company, remembered Jay’s work and gave him a chance to studio for the TVF series Gullak. Jay recalled, “During Gullak, he auditioned me for Bhool Chuk Maaf. I made their audition video on the set of the series.

Surprisingly, my series UP65 had just been released, and it also had a Banarasi story. And sir wanted someone who had good control over the Banarasi dialect because he doesn’t like faking things, and that looks very wrong also." He mentioned that since he had a good control over the language, he secured the role.

Jay, who previously appeared as cameos in Ram Setu and Dream Girl stated that in this film, he is playing an important role. It is a role that provides direction to the storyline. Jay has previously appeared on screen with Rajkummar Rao in the short film called Uss Din with Rajkummar Rao in 2007.

He recalled, “I was seven years old. Rajkummar bhaiya was playing the role of my father. Since then, we have had a good bonding.

Back then, he was Rajkummar Yadav, and back then, we both were struggling. He was doing a lot of short films. He had watched my TV shows and ads.

Cut to now, I am playing one of the closest acquaintances." Praising the actor, Jay stated, “He has gained a lot of stardom, but he is a very secure actor." Bhool Chuk Maaf is written and directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Dinesh Vijan in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios.
