The Winnipeg Jets have to cross their fingers about their star player. Centre Mark Scheifele left Wednesday's Game 5 against the St. Louis Blues ahead of the second period and was ruled out at the start of the third.

It's unclear when Scheifele may have suffered an injury, but he was on the receiving end of a heavy hit from Blues captain Brayden Schenn in the first. Playing without the 32-year-old would be a big loss for the Jets, who are looking to advance past Round 1 for the first time since 2021. The forward has six points (two goals, four assists) through five games this post-season, including an assist on Kyle Connor's game-opening goal.

Scheifele was second in Jets' regular-season scoring, with 39 goals and a career-high 87 points to help lead Winnipeg to the Presidents' Trophy. Prior to his departure from the game, Scheifele played 8:05..
