New Oklahoma Sooners general manager Jim Nagy made another addition to his staff this week. After taking the reins of the program in February, Nagy has now made three staff hires in two months.Taylor Redd was hired as the assistant general manager, serving as Nagy's top lieutenant.
Kale Pearson has come on board as the director of high school scouting. The third move was to hire an Assistant Director of College Scouting. Nagy's choice for the role is Charlie Parkinson, per a report by Will Parkinson that Nagy himself later endorsed.
Charlie Parkinson previously worked with Nagy at the Senior Bowl. Parkinson was a scouting assistant for the Senior Bowl under Nagy. He also spent a season at Wake Forest, where he was a recruiting and player personnel assistant for the Demon Deacons.
Parkinson played for Amherst College, where also served as a recruiting assistant. He's also worked for The 33rd Team, an NFL analysis website that employs many former players and coaches.As Nagy continues to rework what the GM role looks like at OU, he's surrounding himself with a variety of skill sets and experience levels as he becomes more accustomed to his new gig in Norman.
