Excelsior Sports CorrespondentJAMMU, Apr 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Masters Badminton team delivered an outstanding performance at the 7th Masters National Games held in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, bringing home a total of 11 medals, including 4 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze.At the heart of this remarkable achievement was Romesh Sharma, who dominated the competition, winning three gold medals. He triumphed in the Men’s Singles (60-64) category, paired with Joginder Paul Sharma to win the Men’s Doubles (60-64), and teamed up with Khema Gupta to clinch gold in the Mixed Doubles (55-59).
Khema Gupta also added a gold medal to the tally by winning the Women’s Singles (50-54). Joginder Paul Sharma earned a silver medal in Men’s Singles (60-64), while Amit Singh and Akashdeep secured a silver in Men’s Doubles (30-34). Sandeep Gupta and Khema Gupta also bagged a silver in Mixed Doubles (45-49).
The team also earned bronze medals through Akashdeep in Men’s Singles (30-34), Ankush Jamwal in Men’s Singles (35-39), Jaswinder Singh in Mixed Doubles (55-59), and Jai Swroop Sharma in Men’s Singles (55-59).
