Josh Hazlewood dubbed RCB as slow learners as he reflected RCB's poor performances at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the team lost three matches on the trot.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) suffered a crushing five-wicket defeat to Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. This was RCB's third defeat in seven games, and also the third at home. Rain cut short the match to 14 overs, and it was all PBKS after play started.

RCB scored 95-9 in 14 overs, which PBKS chased without breaking a sweat. Things could have been worse for RCB had Tim David not played a 50-run knock in 26 balls. Chinnaswamy was once a fortress for RCB, but IPL 2025 has seen the team struggle at the venue.

The batters have led the team down at a ground which is known to deliver the best batting conditions. RCB have scores of 169-8, 163-7, and 95-9 in the three matches played at the venue. RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood reflected on RCB's performance at home and dubbed the team as slow learners.

“Yeah, it’s obviously three in a row now at home. It’s just we’ve probably been a bit slow on the learnings from the first two games and didn’t put that into practice as well as we could have, probably in those first probably six to eight overs, obviously, with the score the way it was,” Hazlewood said. Hazlewood further said the top order batters need to shoulder the responsibility of batting for the 20 overs to help the team get favourable results.

“If we can have our top five, top six doing the batting for the 20 overs, I think that’ll go a long way to helping us win,” he added. RCB find themselves in the top four, but it has been a closely fought tournament with all teams in hunt for the playoffs. RCB have a good team at disposal and this seems their best chance of winning the IPL.
