Om Prakash, former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) was stabbed to death reportedly while having lunch by Pallavi, his wife. The incident took place on Sunday at his Bengaluru residence where the 68-year-old former officer was found dead in mysterious circumstances. Prakash's son, in his statement to police, revealed that his mother was suffering from schizophrenia for the last 12 years.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental health disorder characterised by delusions and hallucinations. The experts suggest that a person suffering from this disease is likely to behave very abruptly in certain cases. The disease has reportedly played a critical role in the killing of the former officer.
