KEDCO renovates Sallari-Babbangiji primary school, pledges continued supportBy Jabiru A Hassan, KanoThe Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has renovated the Sallari-Babbangiji Primary School in Tarauni Local Government Area as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative focused on the education sector.The newly refurbished classroom block, complete with modern chairs, books, and other instructional materials, was formally commissioned under the leadership of KEDCO’s Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf Lambisa. The project is aimed at creating a more conducive learning environment for pupils at the well-known institution.

Residents of the beneficiary community have expressed appreciation, stating that educational facilities become significantly more conducive when corporate organisations support government efforts through socially responsible programmes.Speaking during the commissioning, elder statesman Alhaji Bello Babura described the project as a major step forward for educational development. He said, “What KEDCO has done for the people of Sallari-Babbangiji will positively impact younger generations throughout the area.



Our son, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf Lambisa, deserves recognition and gratitude for his commitment to the advancement of education, especially at a time when governments cannot shoulder the burden alone.”Also speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Council, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Kure, noted that the management of education is a demanding responsibility that requires the involvement of both public and private sectors. He commended KEDCO and Alhaji Lambisa for transforming the Sallari-Babbangiji Primary School into a facility comparable with those in developed nations.

He encouraged members of the public to contribute whatever they can, regardless of the amount, to support educational growth.In his remarks, Alhaji Abubakar Yusuf Lambisa reaffirmed KEDCO’s commitment to social development across its operational areas. He stated that the company’s CSR efforts are not limited to education alone but extend to other vital sectors that improve the quality of life in both rural and urban communities.

“I want to make it clear that our interventions go beyond education. We also support healthcare, clean water provision, and empowerment programmes, all aimed at strengthening community welfare and promoting peaceful coexistence in the states we serve,” he said.Lambisa further assured the public that KEDCO will continue to introduce new initiatives in education and other key areas that drive both human and infrastructural development.
