After introducing the EV9 a few month ago, Kia is shifting focus to more accessible segments. The upcoming electric RV is expected to arrive ahead of an electric compact SUV.

It will possibly be based on the Syros ICE and expect it to launch sometime next year. These additions could significantly broaden Kia’s EV footprint across price brackets. Kia’s global roadmap includes a slew of fresh models under its ‘EV’ series by 2026, one of which is the recently unveiled EV4, shown in both sedan and hatchback body styles.



Alongside these electric efforts, the brand is also revamping its internal combustion offerings. The new ICE Kia Carens could launch next month with the electric version anticipated to follow shortly after. To set it apart from the ICE model, the Carens EV will likely receive unique styling cues and added features.

The Creta EV offers two battery options, the larger of which promises up to 473 km of range.Due to its bigger footprint and added mass, the Carens EV may deliver a marginally lower figure on a full charge.

The higher-spec trims are expected to go head-to-head with the BYD eMax 7 in the Indian market. The upcoming electric MPV could pack premium features such as a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a 360-degree surround view system and Level 2 ADAS functionalities.
