SBS’s upcoming drama “ The Haunted Palace ” has unveiled new stills featuring its supporting cast! “The Haunted Palace” is a fantasy historical romantic comedy that delves into the tale of the Eight Feet Tall spirit that bears a grudge against the king, a female shaman who opposes it, and an Imugi. In Korean folklore, an Imugi is an imaginary creature that spends a millennium in water and is able to transform into a dragon upon acquiring a yeouiju (magical jewel). Kim Sang Ho will bring a chilling presence to the role of Pung San, a blind man.
Originally a low-ranking street sorcerer, Pung San gains respect and luxury after serving the Eight Feet Tall spirit as the General of Heaven and Earth, finding refuge at the Maengcheong, a gathering place for the blind. With his seasoned acting skills, Kim Sang Ho is expected to amplify the eerie atmosphere of the palace mystery. The fierce battle between Pung San, Gang Cheol ( BTOB ’s Yook Sungjae ), Yeo Ri ( WJSN ’s Kim Ji Yeon ), and Yi Jeong ( Kim Ji Hun ) over the Eight Feet Tall spirit raises anticipation for Kim Sang Ho’s chilling portrayal throughout the story.
Ahn Nae Sang plays Choi Won Woo, the queen’s fifth cousin and a former Left State Councilor. Even after retiring to the countryside, Choi Won Woo remains a powerful figure within his prestigious family, and King Yi Jeong is eager to gain his favor. Known for his calm charisma and ability to control the flow of scenes, Ahn Nae Sang is expected to deliver a standout performance that will spark excitement among viewers.
Gil Hae Yeon stars as Neob Deok, a shaman with remarkable spiritual abilities and Yeo Ri’s grandmother. Though looked down upon as a lowly shaman, Neob Deok has devoted her life to her duties, raising her granddaughter Yeo Ri, who is destined to become a shaman, with deep care and concern for her future. Known for her commanding presence, Gil Hae Yeon is poised to captivate viewers with her powerful performance as the shaman.
Kim In Kwon plays Kim Eung Sun, the king’s loyal eunuch, adding humor to the role. His witty banter with the king’s close companion, Yoon Gap, is expected to bring plenty of laughs. Finally, Lee Won Jong plays Ga Seop, a Buddhist monk and expert in the exorcism ritual Gubyeongsisik. He assists Yeo Ri in her battle against the Eight Feet Tall spirit.
