Kole Bagnell reaches career milestone in Diamond Classic loss

Kole Bagnell got his 100th career hit but the Hammonton High School baseball team lost to Rancocas Valley 13-10 in the first round of the Joe Hartmann Diamond Classic on Wednesday.

Bagnell, a senior shortstop, finished 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Blue Devils. Landon Haines and PJ Hroncich each knocked in two runs for Hammonton.

No. 17 seeded Rancocas will meet seventh-seeded Bishop Eustace 1 p.m.



Saturday at Timber Creek in a second round game. The 32-team, single-elimination Classic is one of the highlights of the South Jersey high school baseball season. The tournament is named after Hartmann, a former coach and athletic director, who was a fixture on the high school baseball scene.
