Krispy Kreme is finally opening in Calgary — and yes, there's a drive-thru

The wait is almost over! Calgary’s first Krispy Kreme location is gearing up to open to the public.A Calgary location of the beloved donut chain has been in the works for quite some time, and it’s been confirmed that it will be opening at 9629 Macleod Trail, the site previously occupied by Ginger Beef.The space will house Krispy Kreme’s signature Hot Light Theatre, where guests will be able to watch the magic happen in real time, with the brand’s original glazed donuts crafted right before their eyes and able to be purchased straight off the line.Krispy Kreme’s first Alberta location is slated to open in Edmonton’s Ever Square this year, and it will be a good indication of what to expect from Calgary.Similar to Edmonton, the YYC location will also have a drive-thru window and a menu of over 20 varieties of donuts, as well as fresh coffee, frozen drinks, and specialty beverages.“We’ve been listening to the passionate requests from our Calgary fans for quite some time,” said Chris Lindsay, Co-CEO for Krispy Kreme Canada.“Bringing Krispy Kreme to this vibrant city is something we’re incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait to become part of the community and share the joy that makes Krispy Kreme so special.”While Krispy Kreme has yet to reveal its official opening date in YYC, stay tuned for updates.
