A special celebration was held to mark a landmark anniversary in the history of a Bolton business. It is two-years this year that the TVD Group became an employee-owned company - which means all employees have a ‘significant and meaningful’ stake in a business. This means employees must have financial stake in the business (eg by owning shares) and a say in how it’s run, known as ‘employee engagement’ The celebration event was held at its cutting-edge AV showroom and head office in Bolton.
With a rich, near three-decade history in Bolton, the company has become a leading UK provider for the design, supply, installation and maintenance of audio-visual technology across a variety of industries, including hospitality, healthcare, betting and gaming, retail and sports stadia to name a few. Recent big-name clients include the F1 Arcade in London and Birmingham, Hollywood Bowl centres and notable local businesses such as Bolton Wanderers and Carrs Pasties. The Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, Cllr Andy Morgan and Karen Holdsworth, were invited as guests of honour.
Cllr Morgan delivered a speech, reflecting on his longstanding relationship with the Brown family and commended TVD Group’s journey, recognising the company’s commitment to its employees and the local community. He said: "Moving to employee ownership wasn’t just a structural change for the company, it was a shift in mindset. "It gave every single person in their business a real stake in its future and the power to drive it forward.
"That shared responsibility is what makes TVD stronger, more innovative , and more dynamic than ever. "Their Employee Ownership Committee plays a vital role in making sure every co-owner has a voice. "I’ve known the Brown family for over 15 years, some of our children went to school together, and during that time qI’ve seen first-hand their passion, their dedication, and their belief in this business.
"Those values remain at the heart of TVD, shaping it into the thriving business it is today. "Congratulations to everyone involved, and here’s to many more years of success! This mix of guests highlighted the broad connections TVD Group has built over the years. The evening included speeches from key members of the leadership team, including Managing Director Lucia Maguire and Director Mat Brown, who discussed the company’s transition to employee ownership, sharing the positive impact it has had on the business culture and its growth. Sales Director Andy Greaves and Marketing Manager Mike Oliver also addressed the crowd, with Andy focusing on the ongoing success of the showroom, which has proven to be a valuable space since its opening in October 2023.
He highlighted how the showroom enables clients to engage with a wide range of technologies in a bespoke environmen Mike said: “With the introduction of our experience centre, we’ve gained a leading advantage—especially in the North—by providing a space where we can showcase an incredible range of technology solutions.” TVD Group is opening its experience centre is available for conferencing and networking events.
