LAWRENCE — Lawrence High School senior Devlin “Rock” Maloney won a Gold medal in bench press at the 2025 Powerlifting Regional Competition hosted by Special Olympics New Jersey on April 12. He also placed 4th in both the squat and deadlift categories. This marks Maloney’s third year in powerlifting competition.

His journey began during his freshman year with encouragement from LHS staff members. Maloney is now also coached by LHS senior Nicholas Shenouda, whose support has contributed to Maloney’s development in the sport. Maloney will next compete in all three powerlifting events at the Special Olympics New Jersey Statewide Championship at The College of New Jersey on June 7.
