Lenovo is a brand you’d typically associate with laptops, computers, or even peripherals. If you’re a gamer, maybe the brand’s gaming division – Legion – sounds more familiar. However, outside of these, Lenovo also offers tablets.

However, the tablet we are reviewing today isn’t something I was expecting especially from Lenovo. The Idea Tab Pro isn’t your typical Lenovo tablet. That’s because it doesn’t run on Windows OS.

Instead, it runs on Android. With a price tag of PHP 21,995, it comes with specs and features we would normally find on higher-end tablets. But just how capable is the Lenovo Idea Pad Pro? More importantly, should you consider it instead of a Windows tablet from the same brand? Well, I suggest you read on to find out.

Table of ContentsDesign and ConstructionDisplay and MultimediaOS, Apps, and UICamerasPerformance and BenchmarksBattery and ConnectivityConclusionDesign and ConstructionWith the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, you have everything you need to get work done in a small compact package. For its size, it’s very slim and light measuring just 6.9mm thick and weighing 620 grams.

It looks and feels premium with its all-metal build, and the Luna Gray color further to its upscale vibe. The design is quite minimalist, similar to most Lenovo products. At the back, there’s a two-tone design with the top portion being a shade slightly darker.

It’s here where you’ll find the camera island housing the single rear camera system. The top portion is also magnetic, making it easy to attach the pen when you’re using the tablet without the case. As for the rest of the back panel, it’s clean with just the Lenovo logo at the center.

It should also give you an idea that this tablet does not run Windows since there’s no Intel or AMD logo anywhere.Chances are though, you will be using this tablet with the included case, which unfortunately hides the back panel. On the upside, this helps protect the tablet and make it stand up when you’re using it like a laptop.

Speaking of, it also comes with a keyboard and trackpad that doubles as a screen protector when closed. The keyboard is decent to use, and you can get some serious writing done. The keys are comfortable and are spaced evenly, but you do need to get used to it given their smaller size.

As for the trackpad, it’s small but easy to use. It’s great if you’re editing photos on Lightroom Mobile or scrolling through websites on Chrome. However, there were times the trackpad didn’t work, which was quite annoying.

Maybe a software update would fix it.Display and MultimediaMoving on to the part of the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro that you will be looking at the most – the screen. It features a 12.

7-inch touchscreen with 3K resolution featuring an LTPS panel. The display only has 400 nits of peak brightness, but thanks to the anti-glare coating, you can easily see everything on the screen. So even if you’re outside, you can get work done.

But as you can see from the review photos, you still get reflections. It’s not perfect, but it does work. The display is amazing too with nice colors and deep blacks.

So whether you’re watching anime, a movie or drama series, you will enjoy everything happening on screen in high res.The display of the Idea Tab Pro also has a 144Hz refresh rate, something you don’t often find on large tablets. While it’s gamers who will benefit from the 144Hz refresh rate the most, creators will love sketching on Idea Tab Pro given the smooth animation.

Using the pen included with the tablet, it’s sensitive to pressure too. Given my drawing skills, or lack thereof, I wasn’t able to maximize it for creative use. However, I’m sure those with more skills will enjoy sketching or drawing stuff using this tablet.

So instead, I used it mainly to scribble down notes. So if you’re a student, you can think of it like a ballpoint pen and the tablet as your notebook. Perfect if you’re packing light and don’t want to bring the keyboard around.

Aside from being productive, you can relax and watch your favorite series on the Idea Tab Pro. Thanks to its large display and the case, you can set it down on a table and have a watch party with friends. To match the nice viewing experience, the tablet comes with JBL-tuned quad speakers.

It also has support for Dolby Atmos, giving the user a much better listening experience. They’re quite loud too, enough to fill the entire A-roll room at the YugaTech HQ. Even with the speakers maxed out, you have decent audio quality to match.

OS, Apps, and UISo you’re probably wondering why Lenovo chose to use Android instead of Windows for the Idea Tab Pro. Well, there’s one reason we could think of – ease of use.If this tablet is mainly something you’ll use for school, work, or productivity in general, you’d want it to be easy to use right? With Android, this tablet now comes with all of the latest Google features like Circle to Search, Circle to Translate, and more.

You even have access to Google Gemini AI to answer all of your questions. If you’re someone who uses an Android phone, you’ll definitely be familiar with these features. But now, you can actually get work done since you have a big touchscreen and even a keyboard with you.

Plus you get all of the usual Android features to boot like split screen, floating windows, and more. What’s great about the Idea Tab Pro is that you can use it similarly to a laptop. It has a feature similar to Samsung DeX, which changes the Android UI similar to that of a laptop.

You can quickly switch back to the regular Android tablet view too if you want to use it like a tablet again.CamerasThe Lenovo Idea Tab Pro also comes with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera in case of video calls. The front camera is decent at best, but the rear camera isn’t that great.

At best you can use it to take photos of documents or forms, but that’s about it. You’re better off using the camera of your smartphone to take photos instead of this tablet. As we always say, we don’t recommend using your tablet to take photos.

And given the size of this thing, it is quite difficult to do too. But if you really want to take photos using the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro who are we to stop you.Performance and BenchmarksWhile a nice display is great, it won’t be enough to give a smooth user experience whether for work or play.

Fortunately, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro has the power to back it up. Under the hood, it is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB of fast UFS 4.0 SSD storage.

If the SSD storage isn’t enough, it even has a dedicated MicroSD card slot that supports cards up to 1TB. Although most might find 256GB enough, it’s still nice to have the option of a microSD slot should you need it.It’s not the latest chip from Mediatek, but it is still very capable today.

It easily handles all of the productivity and creative apps, even with other apps running in the background. To give you an idea, we ran our usual benchmarks on the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro, and on Antutu, it was able to score over 1.1 million, which is still very high by today’s standards.

It also scored decently on Geekbench, 3DMark, and PCMark, and you can check out the scores below.AnTuTu V10 – 1161529AnTutu Storage – 164954 Read – 3233.3 MB/sWrite – 3198.

Even if you use split screen and floating windows, there’s no lag when switching between applications that you would normally expect. So if you multitask regularly, this tablet won’t give you any problems. It can even game too.

As expected light games like Mobile Legends and CoD: Mobile have no issues on this tablet. It’s a similar story when playing graphic-intensive titles like Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero. Work and play in one go.

Battery and ConnectivitySince you’ll likely be using the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro on the go, you don’t want to be hassled by bringing a charger. Thankfully, it has a large 10,200 mAh battery pack that will easily last you an entire day. While we believe that battery life is dependent on the user, there’s no doubt that the Idea Tab Pro’s battery lasts a long time.

After an entire day of use, we still had around 40 percent battery life remaining, and that’s considering we mainly used the tablet for creative purposes. When we ran PCMark’s Battery Benchmark, we were able to record 10 hours and 48 minutes of battery life, which is a great result given the size of the display. For reference, the test was done in airplane mode, zero volume, and 50% brightness.

With that, you won’t have to worry about battery life when you’re out and about using the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro. When you need to recharge the battery, it has a maximum 45W charging rate. There’s also a bunch of battery saving modes and even charging modes to ensure the battery lasts for a long time.

As for connectivity, it comes with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.ConclusionAt PHP 21,995, the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro is a well-packaged tablet since it already comes with a keyboard and a stylus in price.

It may not have the latest chipset or the longest battery life, but it has a beautiful 3K display and nice speakers. More importantly, it’s a great substitute for someone who wants to have a full Android ecosystem. But what do you think of the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro? Is it something that you would consider as opposed to buying a laptop or even other tablets? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
