Runners experienced pleasant weather at the Lincoln Marathon on Sunday and plenty of them took advantage of it. In his second competitive marathon ever, Jackson Caldwell of Wichita, Kansas defended his 2024 men's title at the Lincoln Marathon, winning the 2025 men's race in 2 hours, 21 minutes, 58 seconds on Sunday. Last year, Caldwell, 24, won the race in 2:23.
29. Caldwell ran the race at a 5:27 pace. At the half way point, he was at 1:11.
58. Abraham Kipkemi from Minneapolis, who finished runner-up to Caldwell in 2024, finished second again, this time in 2:22.53, over five minutes better than last year.
Kipkemi owns the fastest time for the event, running 2:16.16 in 2023. Nebraska track and field senior Taya Skelton, 24, won the women's race in 2:54.

Matt Starr, 37, of Omaha won the men's half-marathon in 59.08. Rachael Rudel, 31, of Fort Collins, Colorado, placed first win the women's division of the half-marathon in 1:14.
