Literacy Summit set for next week

Apr. 21—The Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin will have its Literacy Summit from 8:30 a.m.

to 3 p.m. April 29 at the Midland Horseshoe Arena, 2514 Arena Trail, Midland.



Doors open at 8 a.m. The conference, titled "Literacy for Growth," is free and includes a Continental breakfast and lunch.

It will also feature 12 sessions and nine booths. This year's symposium features a keynote address by Steve Sauceda, vice president of Workforce Development at New Mexico Junior College, along with engaging break-out sessions designed to provide valuable insights and practical strategies for those dedicated to literacy education. Whether you are a teacher, tutor, volunteer, HR professional, employer, or advocate, this event offers essential training in adult education best practices, health and financial literacy, employability skills, and early childhood literacy, the website said.
