A car has crashed into a building in Camborne town centre. The vehicle has smashed into the former M&Co building on Trelowarren Street, a photo taken at the scene has revealed. A photo shared with CornwallLive shows the car, with two people inside, wedged through the window of the former retailer.

A number of people are at the scene. Devon and Cornwall Police has said the driver sustained minor injures in the collision. The road will remain closed until a structural engineer assesses the safety of the building.

Traffic is coping well. Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at 11.30am to Trelowarren Street, Camborne, following a report of a car in collision with a building.

"The driver has been checked by ambulance crews at the scene and is believed to have sustained minor injuries. "The road will remain closed until a structural engineer has attended to assess the safety of the building." According to an eyewitness, there are three police cars, one fire engine, one ambulance, ambulance incident command vehicle and a fire incident command officer at the scene.

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash on Trelowarren Street. A local taxi driver told CornwallLive: "You wouldn't believe the chaos. I heard an almighty bang and thought, 'what the heck?' and saw two binmen running down the street to direct traffic.
