AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Tuesday, April 22, is Earth Day, a day set aside for all of us to celebrate our remarkable planet. Various Earth Day celebrations will be held to help educate and inform citizens on our planet and the need to take care of it every day.One local business is offering a unique way to commemorate Earth Day.
You can do it without getting your hands dirty, but rather by using those hands to make a replica of Earth.Bricks and Minifigs is located in Sunset Valley in Austin. It's a Lego resale shop whose business motto is "Rebuild, Reuse, Reimagine.
" Part of why they do what they do is to keep Lego bricks out of the landfill by, in owner Tommy White's words, "offering a fair trade value on sets and bricks that people no longer need, giving others a chance to love the sets that they loved previously."In light of their sustainability effort, they are hosting an event on Earth Day that will allow people to build a model of the Earth. It's a come-and-go event that will give people the chance to be creative in how they view our planet.
