Clark Clodfelter (6-0, 6-0), Preston Kendrick (6-1, 6-0) and Finch Lambeth (6-3, 6-1) also won in singles. Clodfelter/Kendrick (8-2) won in doubles.The Wildcats improved to 5-5 overall.

But the Panthers fell to eventual champion Radford in the semifinals of match play in the Big South Conference women’s golf championship Monday through Wednesday at Fripp Island Resort.Julia McLaughlin fired rounds of 70, 73 and 77 for a 220 total — two shots ahead of Charleston Southern’s Katie Stephens.
Anais Arafi (T9, 76-76-78-230), Ella Perna (T14, 79-76-77-232) and Anna Howerton (T21, 82-79-76-237) also finished inside the top 25.High Point totaled rounds of 304, 303 and 308 for a 915 team score, which placed them second behind Charleston Southern by a shot. In match play against third-place Radford, Howerton won 8-7.
But the Highlanders won three of the five matches to advance, then later in the day beat Charleston Southern 3-1.Radford won its first league title and advanced to the NCAA Regionals. McLaughlin also received an automatic berth in the NCAA Regionals.
The conference also announced its year-end awards. Howerton was selected Golfer of the Year, while Arafi was named Freshman of the Year and Lyndsey Hunnell was chosen Coach of the Year.Howerton was named to the first team all-conference, while Perna, McLaughlin and Arafi earned second team all-conference.
Arafi was also named to the all-freshman team, while McLaughlin was selected for the all-academic team..
