Designing furniture Triple Curve Desk in Walnut designed by Edward Nader for Global Views "I've been designing furniture on and off for probably 15 or 18 years, but really it just took on a different life of its own, and it wasn't something I was expecting to do. I do it as a straight-on passion. I love it.

It's rewarding," he said. Nader loves the process of going back and forth with the factories, tweaking the design until it's perfect. He's been designing for Global Views, Leftbank Art, Elk Home, A&B Home, Sonder Living, and William D.

Scott — but until now has never agreed to be branded. His pieces have been placed in many hotels, like the Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, Wynn Las Vegas, and Wynn Palace Cotai, Macau, and others.

Some items he has designed have appeared on sets of shows and movies, like the Saturn Bowl appearing in "Succession." Saturn Bowl in Gold designed by Edward Nader for Global Views. High Point Market The official launch of Edward Nader for Global Views products was Saturday at the High Point international home furnishings show in North Carolina, which he said is larger than the next ten shows around the world combined.

The High Point Market is described online as the destination to source modern furniture, meet makers and explore every product category. Twisted Rail Console in Okume/Brass designed by Edward Nader for Global Designs "I did not want to be branded, because I don't want people to think I'm special and want to be my friend or want to know me because of a name. I want them to know me, because they like my stuff, they like me, and that sort of thing.

That has been an internal battle with me since day one and I'm not kidding you, that has been the number one thing that I have struggled with because everybody in my industry wants notoriety." Nader's Gallery sources most of their furnishings from High Point, and he's been attending that market for years. He said he always enjoyed seeing people admire his designs, which were not branded.

"And so it's little things like that that just keep you motivated. I don't do it for the money, I don't do it for the fame, but I do it for the recognition that the people in my industry that matter like it. And appreciate it and validate it.

" Perfectly Simple Chair in Cognac designed by Edward Nader for Global Views He first began designing furniture in the late 1990s for Comfort Design. "I began by manufacturers asking me what I thought of new products at market. I would give my opinion, and then they would say, 'Hmm.

I didn’t think of that, but that is a good idea...

you should be designing products.' Eventually, I said, 'OK. Let me do some for you.

' And then it began." He praises his mentor, David Gebhard of Global Views, for growing him into a good product designer. Swivel Chairs White Leather designed by Edward Nader for Global Views Nader found out his swivel chairs were in the most expensive home in North America — a $250 million penthouse owned by billionaire Ken Griffin — when friend and Shreveport space: interiors owner Myron Griffing sent him a screenshot from the TV show 'Mr.

Luxury' where they were being featured. "I was very humbled and honored to have them placed across from a Vladimir Kagan sofa in that setting. Vladimir was an iconic, brilliant midcentury designer.

He and his wife were personal friends of mine. He was so humble, brilliant, and such a gentleman. He was also someone that illustrated to me that no matter how big a deal you become, you should just remain humble and true to your values.

" That's important to Nader as he moves into this new landscape. "This will be the first time products are released with my name on the actual products. The drawers will have a brass plate inside.

The bowls will have my name on the bottom. Things like that," he said. Becoming a brand Colby Console in Walnut/Brass designed by Edward Nader for Global Views.

Nader said he asked his friend, Michelle Lamb, for advice before agreeing to be branded. "She's probably one of the smartest women I know, period." Lamb is co-founder and chairman of California-based The Trend Curve, which has the tagline, “The international authority on trends for the home furnishings industry.

” "I said, ‘Michelle, I'm struggling with this. People want to brand me. I don't want to be branded.

She goes, "You don't have to, but I'm going to tell you, there's a way to do it without selling yourself out." She used the Property Brothers as an example, saying they are down to earth, the kind of people that are true and real. "She said 'just be true to yourself and you can participate in that at any level.

' So when I became branded I'm trying to always just stay true and humble and just do it for the love of the product design more than anything." Global Views Global Views is described on its website as a leading purveyor of distinctive furniture, lighting, wall décor, and decorative accessories to the interior design community since 1996. "It's a global brand.

..it's a Chanel kind of brand, you know.

..it's a top tier — everything for the home," Nader said.

He referred to the other Global Views brand partners like Roger Thomas and Barbara Barry and Christian Limeux as "iconic people." "So when I was asked to be part of that group, it kind of freaked me out, because they're in a different playing field than me. So I was like, 'you don't belong there.

' Kind of it just didn't feel right, because I'm just a little hillbilly from Shreveport, really honestly at the end of the day, right?"
