The Lompoc girls swim team has clinched its second straight Ocean League dual meet championship.

The Lompoc girls swim team has clinched its second straight Ocean League dual meet championship. The Braves put the wrap on a 10-0, 5-0 dual meet campaign with a 156-131 win over Nipomo at Nipomo Friday. Lompoc won every event except the diving and the 200 freestyle relay.

The Titans hung close by finishing 2-3-4 in multiple events. Lompoc got open event wins from Gabriela Huizar in the 50 and 100 freestyles; Clara Ainsworth in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke; Jaklyn Stevenson in the 500 free and 100 backstroke; and Arwen Galisky in the 200 individual medley. Stevenson, Galisky, Ainsworth and Huizar combined for a win in the 200 medley relay.



Stevenson, Huizar, Galisky and Ainsworth won the 400 free relay. The Nipomo boys defeated Lompoc. The final score was unavailable.

Johan Quintanar scored the lone event win for the Braves. Quintanar won the 100 freestyle. He finished second in the 100 freestyle.

The Ocean League preliminaries and finals will take place at the Lompoc Aquatic Center. The prelims will take place April 29 beginning at 12 p.m.

The finals will take place May 1 and will also begin at 12 p.m. Baseball Mountain League Righetti 11, Arroyo Grande 10 The Warriors (11-7, 7-4) kept enough of the 6-0 lead they had going into the bottom of the third inning at Arroyo Grande to stay alive in the race for the league championship.

Righetti is three games back of first-place St. Joseph (18-5, 10-1). Both teams have four league games left.

The Knights' magic number to clinch the league championship is two. To have a shot at some sort of league title before they start their regular-season ending series with the Knights on May 7, the Warriors will need help from defending Mountain League champion Cabrillo, which is 4-7 in league play this year but beat Lompoc 10-0 Friday. St.

Joseph will host Cabrillo April 30 and play at Cabrillo May 1. Righetti will play league games against Lompoc, at Righetti on April 30 and at Lompoc May 2. After a Jacob McMillan home run accounted for the only run in a 1-0 Righetti win over Arroyo Grande at Righetti Wednesday, the teams combined for 21 runs Friday.

Righetti scored two runs in the top of the seventh to build an 11-7 lead then hung on after the Eagles scored three times in the bottom seventh. Blake Thayer and Riley Bassett homered for Righetti Friday. Thayer had four hits and drove in two runs.

Bassett had three hits and three RBIs. The Warriors withstood five Judah Hill RBIs for the Eagles (9-11, 4-7). Hill homered.

Cabrillo 10, Lompoc 0 After losing 3-2 to the Braves on a Sebastian Bravo walk off home run Wednesday, the Conquistadores rolled to a win over their Lompoc Valley rival at Cabrillo Friday. The Conquistadores scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game thanks to the run rule. Thomas Kiesling pitched a complete game and blanked the Braves on three hits.

Kiesling struck out seven batters and walked one. Kiesling helped himself by getting three hits and driving in three runs. Blake Gregory had two hits and drove in two runs for the Conqs.

Cabrillo is 8-7, 4-7 and became playoff eligible with the win Friday. Lompoc, which is also playoff eligible, dropped to 9-6, 5-6. Both teams will play in the Central Coast Easter Tournament that will take place Wednesday through Friday.

Lompoc will host Nipomo in a non-league game Tuesday at 1 p.m. Non-league San Luis Obispo 8, St.

Joseph 4 Gabe Vigil homered and drove in four runs, and the Sunset League front-runners (9-8) beat the first-place Mountain League team (18-4) at St. Joseph Saturday. The Tigers broke on top 6-3 with four runs in the fourth inning.

San Luis Obispo withstood four errors. Niko Peinado had two hits and drove in a run for the Knights, who had just two RBIs. St.

Joseph will play a non-league game at Moorpark Saturday at 10 a.m. Softball Mountain League St.

Joseph 6, Lompoc 4 The Knights (16-4, 10-1) built a two-game lead over second-place Righetti with a league win at Lompoc. Taylor Mediano and Annalyssa Cota both had two hits and three RBIs for St. Joseph.

Both homered. Natalie Aguilar had two hits and two RBIs and homered for Lompoc. St.

Joseph will play a Nor Cal Classic tournament game at Elk Grove Monterey Trail Friday at 8 a.m. The Knights will play two more tournament games Saturday at times TBD.
