LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center holds butterfly release ceremony

SHREVEPORT, La. - The LSU Health Shreveport Academic Medical Center let life sing Thursday morning with a butterfly release. The purpose of the event is to bring focus on the lives saved through organ and eye donation.

In 2024, more than 48,000 Americans received a life-saving transplant. However, there are still over 100,000 people on the national transplant waiting list, with 58,631 being active candidates. National Donate Life Month has been celebrated in April for more than 20 years.
