After the launch of the Thar Roxx, which offers proper 5-door setup and added practicality, the regular Thar has taken the back seat. In the latest development, the company has rejigged the SUV’s variant line-up, discontinuing a total of 8 variants.

The top-spec LX convertible trims, AX 4WD trims and LX 4WD trims with an open differential have been discontinued.

Among these discontinued variants, only two are for the petrol powertrain, while the remaining six are for the diesel engine option. It is also important to note that only 4WD trims are affected by this reshuffle, and the RWD line-up remains unchanged.Apart from the AX(O) 1.

5-litre diesel RWD hard top variant, there’s no entry-level AX trim on offer in the Thar line-up. Despite playing around with the variants, Mahindra has not made any changes to the pricing of the Thar. This means that the SUV continues to be priced in the range of Rs.
