Prayagraj : A man and his daughter, were mowed down by a speeding pick up van near Rampur village under the limits of Industrial Area police station late on Monday night. The deceased have been identified as Birju (27) and his daughter Dipasana (7), both residents of Bara Lohgara . According to the police, the incident took place when some people were sleeping in a field, and a speeding pickup, which might have arrived to unload garbage, mowed them down.
Two more persons sleeping inside field , including Sardeepnath and Jainath, were also injured in the incident. The bodies were sent for post-mortem. Cops claimed to have registered an FIR under appropraite sections of the BNS and launched a hunt for the errant driver.
