A Wicklow man has been reunited with his car after a heavy weekend in Cork led to him forgetting where he had parked it. Kieran misplaced his car for three weeks after driving up to Cork for a friend's stag do on Friday the 4th of April, and was forced to leave without his car when he couldn't remember where it had been parked. Since then, he had visited over 60 estates in the city to try find the one he had left his car in, he told Neil Prendeville on Cork's Red FM .
"I got into Cork late at night and couldn't find anywhere to park in the city," Kieran explained on Wednesday. "I was fed up, so drove way out towards the south of the city. "I'm not too sure how far I drove but I parked it up in an estate, and since then I haven't laid an eye on the car.
" When it came time to leave at the end of the weekend, he realised he had no idea where he had left the car, which is a 2010 Skoda Superb. "One of the boys stayed back with me and we drove around Cork for the guts of five hours looking for this car," said Kieran. "I've put so many hours into trying to find this car, it's actually the stupidest thing I've ever done.
"I actually went back the Sunday and every weekend since, I was actually down on Saturday and we went to around 59 estates exactly because I took a note of every estate we were in, we were the whole day doing it. I have actually put so much hours into finding the car." Kieran offered a €200 reward for anyone who could help him locate his car, and mentioned he had been in contact with the local Gardai to no avail.
He had even spoken to local taxi drivers to ask them to keep an eye out. Local woman Susan Maguire, who heard Kieran’s appeal on the radio, got in touch to report that she had spotted the vehicle on Tory Top Road, 30 minutes from the city centre..
