Man, three daughters killed in road accident near Godhra

Vadodara: A man and his three daughters were killed in a road accident near Godhra on Friday afternoon, while the man's fourth daughter was badly injured. The accident occurred when a truck ran over their motorcycle. The accident occurred near Trupti Hotel, at the junction of the Godhra-Vadodara highway and the Godhra bypass.

Both the truck and the victims' motorcycle were on the Godhra bypass near the hotel when the accident happened. Rajendra Chauhan, 36, was a resident of Bor village in Ghoghamba taluka of Panchmahal district. He left on his motorcycle with his four daughters, Nayna (3), Jaanu (9), Manisha (12) and Varsha (13) for Sarangpur village beside the Godhra bypass road, where a wedding was to take place.



Sources said a truck hit Rajendra's motorcycle from behind near the hotel. All those on the motorcycle fell onto the road, and other commuters and bystanders rushed to their aid. Godhra taluka police and emergency ambulance services were informed about the accident and rushed to the scene.

Rajendra and his four daughters were taken to Godhra Civil Hospital. The doctors there declared all four, except three-year-old Nayna, dead..
