Maruti Suzuki has announced it will launch the e Vitara before the end of September.It’s unclear whether Maruti Suzuki has delayed the launch of the e Vitara or if it never planned to commence sales in the early part of the year in the first place.
However, with display units already in showrooms, it seems the company indeed planned to launch it by April and is probably facing a setback.During Maruti Suzuki’s Q4 FY2025 earnings conference call on Friday, Chairman R C Bhargava said that the e Vitara’s “domestic sales will start before the end of September.” For some customers eagerly waiting to buy the e Vitara, the wait could be even longer.

“I think the annual production in the six-seven months that we’re talking about will be somewhere near 70,000 electric vehicles, the bulk of which will be exported,” he said.The Maruti e Vitara will be available in standard-range FWD and long-range FWD variants. The standard-range FWD variant will have a 105.
8 kW/192.5 Nm motor, powered by a 49 kWh LFP battery pack sourced from BYD. The long-range FWD variant will have a 128 kW/192.
5 Nm motor, which will get its energy from a 61 kWh LFP battery pack, also supplied by BYD. It will be among the brand’s safest cars to date, equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, front and rear disc brakes, an electronic parking brake, and seven airbags, including a driver knee airbag.
