Maruti Suzuki To Launch 2 New SUVs In India This Year – What We Know So Far

GaadiWaadi -Apart from the all-electric e Vitara SUV, Maruti Suzuki has a 2nd SUV in the pipeline for 2025Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest carmaker, is currently focusing on expanding its SUV line-up. As a part of its upcoming product strategy, the company recently revealed the launch timeline for its first BEV, the e Vitara. Apart from this, a 2nd SUV is also confirmed to go on sale in the Indian market in 2025.

Let’s look at the details of all the latest developments around Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming SUVs. While announcing the Q4 results on 25th April 2025, the home-grown automaker also shed some light on its product roadmap for the year 2025. The e Vitara, which was officially unveiled at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025, is set to go on sale later this year.



The electric SUV has already started reaching Nexa showrooms nationwide so that customers can experience the EV in full flesh. Deviating from the earlier speculations of the e Vitara launching around March-April 2025, Maruti has now cleared the air. The brand’s first electric car will be launched in September 2025, along with the price announcement.

The deliveries are also expected to start around the same timeline. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will rival the likes of Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG ZS EV amongst others in the domestic market. It will be sold via the Nexa dealership chain.

While the details regarding the second SUV and its launch timeline were not revealed by Maruti. There are chances that it can be a new 5-seater mid-size SUV which will be sold via the Arena dealership chain. The 5-seater SUV will have more sales potential, however, the company has no presence in the 7-seater SUV segment and the new three-row SUV could be a step in the right direction.

It is important to note that these are just speculation and nothing can be confirmed as of now.Talking about the production capacity, the company is targeting around 70,000 units of the e Vitara for 2025. The majority share of these 70,000 units will be earmarked for exports and only a small quantity will be retained for domestic sales.
