September 14, 1937 - April 17, 2025 Mary Ann Rhodes, 87, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at her residence. A funeral service in her memory will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m.
and conclude at the time of service. In honor of Mary Ann's vibrant spirit, you're invited to wear bright clothes. Mary Ann will be laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery.

com . Mary Ann was born on September 14, 1937; she was 'chosen' (as she liked to say) by her adoptive parents, Dolly (Lage) and Edward Otto. After high school graduation, Mary obtained her degree in nursing and went on to practice for many years as an LPN.
She joined Thomas Rhodes in married union on July 20, 1960 in Reno, Nev. Together, they travelled the US as Thomas' Navy career kept them on the move. Later, they'd travel as a family when they welcomed their children to the world.
Many beloved memories were made on their journeys. She as a friend of Bills for 46 years. Throughout the years, Mary Ann always made her home into a welcoming place and was a wonderful host.
In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, making macrame, and spending time with her beloved pets. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren came into the picture, she easily accepted her new titles of 'Grandma' and most recently 'Gi-Gi' and lent her assistance whenever needed. Those left to honor Mary Ann's memory include her children, Ilene Altman, Ron (Teri) Rhodes, Lori (Mark) Rasmussen; grandchildren, Ron (Tiffany) Rasmussen, Marcus (Anna) Rasmussen, Katlin (Jordan) Young; and her great-grandchildren, Amari Young, Avery Young, Tenley Rasmussen, and Tyler Bialobreski; beloved pet, Smokie.
