LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed full confidence in the capabilities of the Pakistan Army, stating that the armed forces are fully prepared to confront any threat posed by neighbouring India. Speaking at a ceremony held to distribute ration cards to industrial workers and miners, the chief minister acknowledged rising tensions along the Pakistan-India border but reassured the public that “there is no cause for concern”. “I want to tell the people of Pakistan that regardless of political affiliations, we must all stand united with our armed forces in this critical time,” she said.
“Pakistan is a nuclear power—any enemy would think ten times before daring to attack,” she maintained. Maryam Nawaz emphasised that Pakistan’s nuclear status, achieved during the tenure of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, serves as a powerful deterrent. “The credit for making Pakistan invincible goes not only to the sacrifices of our martyrs but also to the unwavering efforts of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif,” she added.
She also took the opportunity to celebrate the launch of the worker ration card programme, calling it a “long-standing dream” finally realised. PM Shehbaz likely to unveil worker-friendly package on Labour Day “I thank Allah Almighty for enabling us to support our workers with dignity through this initiative,” she said. In her closing remarks, the chief minister said Pakistan has been blessed with the strength—through its people and its army—to meet any challenge.
“Allah has given us the courage to face every enemy,” she declared. Tags: maryam nawaz reaffirms support.
