Devil May Cry is entering a new era. In this age of video game adaptations of series and movie adaptations of video games, Capcom’s Devil May Cry received its first Netflix anime adaptation. Capcom and Devil May Cry are kind of integrally related to each other.

But this latest adaptation breathes new life into Capcom's iconic video game series. The series delivers an impressive blend of gothic action and irreverent humor. This series premiered on April 3, 2025, and garnered massive popularity among fans for its dynamic storytelling .

However, for those who have missed the premiere and are curious about the cast, here’s what they should know. The protagonist of Devil May Cry is Dante, who is a charismatic demon hunter characterized by stylish combat and sardonic wit. The voiceover for Dante has been done by Johnny Yong Bosch, a person recognized for various roles in Bleach and Code Geass, and it adds a brilliant mix of bravado and vulnerability to the character, capturing the hodgepodge that the fans happened to love.

Against Dante, the anime series featured Mary, who's been referred to as "Lady," played by Scout Taylor-Compton. As a lieutenant in the covert organization DARKCOM, Mary's relationship with Dante fleshes out the themes of trust and redemption within the storyline. Hoon Lee brings enigmatic villainy to the character White Rabbit.

The demonic villain seeking to merge the human and demon realms creates intrigue and menace. Chris Coppola populates the cast as the information broker Enzo Ferino, who helps with wisdom and counsel for Dante in his quests. Enzo's charm, together with street smarts, is a delightful reprieve from the heavy battles against demonic forces.

The series warmly recalls the late Kevin Conroy as Vice President William Baines, the head of DARKCOM. Known popularly for his portrayal of Batman, Conroy voices the character with such gravitas and subtlety that it serves as an apt tribute to his legacy in animation. Completing the main cast is Robbie Daymond as Vergil, brother to Dante.

Vergil's ever-complicated relationship with Dante, plagued with rivalry and nostalgia, gives a lot of emotional weight and tension to the story. Not only the main cast of the series, but the supporting cast is also equally interesting. This cast list includes an excellently chosen characters that complement the storyline.

Zeke Alton gives voice to Dr. Fisher, a paranormal scientist at DARKCOM. His expertise in demonic phenomena has been indispensable.

Jon Gries plays the role of Hopper, who is the President of the United States, and he is the one who has to deal with the political consequences of the demonic incursions. The DARKCOM team is made a lot bigger by agents Anders (Benjamin Abiola), King (Sunkrish Bala), Ninja (Fryda Wolff), Patriot (Leilani Barrett), and Sentry (Tina Majorino). Each brings with him or her different skills and viewpoints that they will use to fight evil.

In addition, the development introduces a flashback to how Dante and Vergil came to be, with Kue Lawrence and Marcel Nahapetian providing their younger voices, respectively. These reveal the backstory of the motivations of today's events and the story behind their fraternal bond. There are further representations of these antagonistic forces too; for instance, Sly (Kenny Omega), who is a mercenary contracted to hunt down Dante and Arnold (Jason E.

Kelley), a mercenary with established past ties to Dante. Demon hierarchy is illustrated through the demonic characters Agni and Rudra (Ray Chase), Echidna (Kari Wahlgren), Cavaliere (Jason Marnocha), Plasma (Roger L. Jackson), and Bloodstryke (Donovan Patton), all intricately complicating an already arduous journey for protagonists.

Devil May Cry , the latest Netflix animated series, stands as proof that its source material lives on, forever meshing vibrant action with character development. Its chaos is conceived from a well-built cast of voices welcoming the audience into this action-packed investigation of heroism, identity, and the opposing forces of good and evil. Whether one is a die-hard fan or a newcomer drawn to its dark allure, prepare for an adaptation that promises an exciting ride worthy of both legacy and new territory.
