The Kapuso actress , who is an architecture student at the University of Santo Tomas, documented moments from her thesis defense, from preparations to actual presentation through her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, April 22.
Quintos admitted she was “shaking” while in front of the panel. “[Point of view]: Your thesis jury just gave you your final grade and you’re finally graduating after 10 years in college,” she captioned a video of herself being giddy upon receiving her mark. She took a break from school in 2019 after being cast in a project, then enrolled again in 2020. “I was already studying architecture when I entered showbiz. That’s the path I would have taken if it weren’t for acting,” she said in a 2021 interview.
“But I still want to pursue that because I know that being an actress isn’t forever.” In the same year, Quintos became a subject of criticism after a UST student made a blind item about a thesis mate who was apparently “getting good grades without having to work for it.” The student further hinted that the thesis mate was a celebrity and a talent of GMA, with some netizens guessing that it was Quintos.
The actress addressed the issue in 2023 and clarified that architecture thesis is not a group work but an individual one. “Because of that incident din medyo naapektuhan po ang aking mental health,” Quintos admitted at the time. “Because of that experience also I realized na ‘yung pag-aaral, ‘yung pagpapatapos ng school, I shouldn’t do it for anyone else.
