Milwaukee faces potential severe weather with high winds and thunderstorms today, according to the National Weather Service.

As Milwaukee braces for a mix of springtime unpredictability, residents should prepare for potential severe weather conditions today. The National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan has released a detailed forecast warning of breezy conditions with high winds, alongside a chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight. The weather outlook promises partly sunny skies with a pleasant high nearing 72 degrees.

However, gusty winds ramping up to as high as 35 mph, could leave outdoor objects in a bit of a tumble. As night falls, the chance of precipitation rises to 50 percent, promising a windy evening with possible thunderstorms post 8 pm. The Milwaukee area will also experience warm lows around 60 degrees.

Residents should remain vigilant, as the outlook for today includes the possibility of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. According to the National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan , "Severe thunderstorms may develop between mid afternoon and mid evening. Hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes are all possible.

" The greatest risk appears to be westward, from Sheboygan to Lake Geneva, with the highest probabilities towards Wisconsin Dells. Looking ahead, the forecast suggests unsettled weather will persist, with chances for more thunderstorms from Wednesday night into Thursday. The NWS advisory indicates, "A 30 percent chance of showers after 1pm," on Wednesday, with increasing odds of precipitation by nightfall.

With temperatures gradually decreasing throughout the week, Thursday could bring about showers and perhaps another thunderstorm, with "new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible." For those looking toward the weekend, the forecast hints at a respite from the recent stormy trend. Saturday is anticipated to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-50s, while Sunday promises even warmer conditions with abundant sunshine and highs in the low 60s.

Spotters, deemed essential to providing ground reports during severe weather, may find themselves on standby through tonight..
