As Minneapolis residents bask in today's mostly sunny skies with temperatures aiming for a pleasant 69 degrees, it's about time to consider digging out those slightly neglected umbrellas. According to a forecast from the National Weather Service, the city is looking at a "chance of sprinkles before 2am, then a slight chance of showers after 2am," with a low tonight hovering around 50 degrees.With a south southeast wind blowing at 5 to 10 mph, the chance of precipitation is sitting modestly at 20%.
The following days, though, the residents should keep their rain gear handy, with Thursday's forecast predicting "a chance of showers after 1pm." Come the night, and the skies will likely cast a "slight chance of showers before 1am, then a chance of sprinkles after 1am," with a 20% chance of rain and a dip in the thermometer to about 44 degrees.Friday seems to promise the start of a break in the rain, with the outlook showing partly sunny skies and a near-ideal high of about 60 degrees.
As for the evening plans, the weather should be cooperating with clear skies and a low around 42 degrees, set to a backdrop of a north northwest wind easing off to become calm as the evening progresses.Weaving into the weekend, Minneapolis is expected to hit a high note with sunny Saturday skies and temperatures gracefully climbing to about 70 degrees. The nighttime should be just as clear, with lows casually settling around 50 degrees and gentle winds from the south.
Weather-wise, Sunday will graciously follow suit, growing even warmer, hitting highs in the upper 70s, and continuing the streak with "mostly clear" conditions and a low of 56 degrees.Looking into the early week, the pattern of sunny dominance seems reluctant to yield. Monday's temperatures are set to soar even further, approaching the 80-degree benchmark.
However, Monday night brings back a familiar friend – a vague whisper of "20 percent chance of showers" murmurs across the forecast, under a partly cloudy night sky with lows around 57 degrees. And, persisting on Tuesday, there's a persistent 20 percent chance of showers, despite the mostly sunny forecast and highs once again nearing the 79-degree mark..
