Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the magnet to all the attention, as he made a stunning debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). At 14 years of age, he became the youngest player to mark his debut in IPL.Despite the intense pressure of the situation, Vaibhav played with all his might and played a stunning innings of 34 off 20 balls, scoring 2 fours and 3 sixes.
He played with Yashasvi Jaiswal and helped in scoring 85 runs for the opening wicket as RR was chasing 181.On the next day of Vaibhav’s much-impressive debut, his coach Manish Ojha shared insights about how the youngest player did his preparations for the clash. Ojha revealed that the youngster was not allowed to eat mutton and pizza in order to stay fit.
“Mutton nahi khana hai usko, instructions hain. Pizza hata diya hai uske diet chart mein se (Mutton is not allowed as per the instructions. Pizza has been removed from his diet chart).
He is just fond of chicken and mutton. He is a kid, so he used to love pizza a lot. But he doesn’t eat it anymore,” Ojha saidManish Ojha also admitted that Vaibhav has a long way and will score big numbers in the upcoming matches.
Ojha even called him to be a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara.“He will go a long way. We’ve seen the way he started the innings, and I can promise you — he will score big in the coming matches.
He’s a fearless batter. He has said time and again that he admires Brian Lara. But he’s a mix of Yuvraj Singh and Brian Lara.
His aggression is just like Yuvraj’s,” he added.Born in 2011, Suryavanshi made history by becoming the first IPL player born after the tournament’s inception in 2008. He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.
