A total of 51,000 job letters were distributed among the youth across the country.In his address, Modi announced that his Government is taking several measures to ensure that the opportunities for employment and self-employment keep growing.He said a big highlight was that growth has been inclusive and noted that the participation of women has risen in every sector.

“Three of the five toppers in this year’s UPSC exam are women. Over 90 lakh Self-Help Groups have more than 10 crore women working for them,” the Prime Minister said, adding India’s women power is scaling new heights in fields ranging from bureaucracy to space and science.Modi said his Government is ensuring at every step that employment and self-employment opportunities for the country’s youth continue to grow.

Modi asserted that the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), to be held in Mumbai, will also be a big opportunity for youngsters to showcase their skills on a global platform.“The Government has announced the ‘Manufacturing Mission’ with a goal to promote the ‘Make in India’ initiative and provide the country’s youth with the opportunity to create products of global standards,” he said.The Prime Minister pointed out that in recent times, the automobile and footwear industries have achieved new records in production and exports, creating substantial employment opportunities for the youth.

He also highlighted that, for the first time, products from Khadi and Village Industries have surpassed a turnover of Rs 1.70 lakh crore, generating millions of new jobs, especially in rural areas.He remarked on the recent achievement in Inland Water Transport, noting that before 2014, only 18 million tons of cargo were moved annually through Inland Water Transport.

This year, cargo movement has exceeded 145 million tons. He attributed this success to India’s consistent policy-making and decision-making in this direction.In his opening remarks, Union Minister of State in the PMO Dr Jitendra Singh described the Rozgar Mela as not just a Government job distribution drive, but a larger vision of empowering India’s youth and bridging socio-economic disparities.

“Today’s Rozgar Mela carries the golden message of opportunity and ambition for India’s youth,” he said.Out of the 51,000 new jobs distributed, nearly 28% have gone to women, while Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs), and Scheduled Tribes (STs) accounted for 26.41%, 13.

97%, and 7.86% of the appointments respectively. “This inclusivity marks a significant departure from the past, where such representation was lacking,” Dr Jitendra Singh noted.

He credited PM Modi with broadening the definition of employment by creating opportunities beyond conventional Government jobs.“Rozgar is no longer confined to sarkari naukri,” he citing over 52 crore loans disbursed under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and nearly one crore under the Swanidhi Scheme for street vendors.Highlighting entrepreneurial success stories, the Minister said more than 1.
