More K9 units to be deployed in MRT-3, LRT stations --DOTr

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said it will deploy more K9 units at Metro Rail Transit-3 and Light Rail Transit stations in Metro Manila to replace X-ray machines. DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon inspected on Saturday the Philippine Coast Guard K9 Facility in Clark, Pampanga to check on the bomb-sniffing dogs prior to their deployment. Dizon earlier said the full removal of X-ray scanners in all MRT-3 stations will help decongest queues .

The train stations will also have artificial intelligence (AI) enabled CCTV cameras as part of efforts to reduce queues without compromising public safety and security. —KG, GMA Integrated News.
