More than 1,000 people took to the roads this week for the second 10k run organised by Bolton Wanderers in the Community. The Bolton Community 10k and Family 2k fun run, sponsored by Vital Energi, started at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Sunday. Bolton Wanderers in the Community welcomed 1,600 participants to the run, which is designed to promote health and wellbeing among Bolton residents.
It aimed to promote positive activity by inviting people from to walk, jog, or run the closed-road route starting and finishing at the stadium. (Image: Supplied) The day started with the first Bolton Community Family 2k Fun Run, where more than 400 children aged four to 16 ran at 8.45am.
This was followed by 1,200 participants who jogged, ran, or walked the Bolton Community 10k. Ben Lawton, deputy CEO of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, said: "The Bolton Community 10k is a testament to our charity’s commitment to providing positive opportunities for local residents. " (Image: Henry Lisowski) Andy Burnham Following the event, participants were invited to celebrate their achievements pitch side, take photos with their medals, and attend a session by Injury Mechanics, who shared tips and tricks on injury prevention and provided sports massages.
