Representative Image NEW DELHI: Pakistani forces once again opened fire across the Line of Control (LoC) and the Indian Army gave a proportionate response to their ceasefire violation. This was the seventh straight night of ceasefire violation by Pakistan. External affairs minister S Jaishankar received a call from his US counterpart Marco Rubio, as the United States attempts to de-escalate tensions between India and Pakistan following last week's terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam.
US President Donald Trump conceded that his tariff strategy might result in fewer and costlier products for American consumers. However, he added that the economic pain would hit China harder. The ceasefire violation occurred despite DGMOs of India and Pakistan talking over the hotline on Wednesday to discuss the continuous unprovoked violations by Pakistan.
