Motorola has launched the Moto Tag in India, its Bluetooth-enabled item tracker that works with Google’s Find My Device network. The product was initially introduced in the US in mid-2024 and now enters the Indian market to compete with other trackers from brands like Noise and Boat. Moto Tag: Features The Moto Tag helps users locate misplaced or lost items using Google’s Find My Device network. It supports ultra-wideband (UWB) connectivity for smartphones that support the feature, enabling precise location tracking through Motorola’s ‘Precision Finding’ capability—even when the tag is offline. Compatible with Android 9 and above, the Moto Tag uses Bluetooth 5.

The tracker houses a replaceable CR2032 battery that is claimed to offer up to one year of usage. For privacy, Motorola offers end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the owner can track the location of their tagged items. It also includes anti-stalking protections—users are notified if an unknown tag is traveling with them—and manual scanning capabilities for identifying unfamiliar trackers nearby.
The Moto Tag features an IP67 rating, offering resistance against dust and water. It has a compact plastic build and weighs just 7.5g.
The dimensions are listed as 31.9mm in diameter and 8mm in thickness, making it easy to attach to a wide range of personal items. With this launch, Motorola aims to provide Android users in India with a reliable and secure solution for item tracking, building upon Google’s expanding Find My Device ecosystem.
